Wirral Green Belt Council is a voluntary non-political body with charitable status. It was formed in 1957.

Our aim is to set up and thereafter preserve a green belt in Wirral of the greatest natural and rural amenity.

We monitor all matters affecting the green belt on the Wirral. We deal with the Department of the Environment and both Borough Planning departments.

Wirral Green Belt Council takes part in consultative procedures on a national, county, and local level. All Green Belt issues are monitored. We are represented at public inquiries and both Cheshire & Dee estuary planning forums.

Wirral Green Belt Council liaises with other environmental groups and the London Green Belt Council. We provide public information and inquiries are welcome.

Membership consists of associate members and affiliated organisations who send delegates to meetings when Green Belt matters are debated.
